In order to remain listed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment, at least two people need to show that they tried to resolve a dispute with this user and have failed. This must involve the same dispute, not different disputes. The persons complaining must provide evidence of their efforts, and each of them must certify it by signing this page with ~~~~. If this does not happen within 48 hours of the creation of this dispute page (which was: {insert UTC timestamp with ~~~~~}), the page will be deleted. Statement of the dispute
[edit]This is a summary written by users who dispute this user's conduct. Users signing other sections should not edit here.
First off, I strongly recommend everyone immediately read the translation of his user page from Hebrew Wikipedia. This makes it extremely clear how bad this user's conduct is. We shouldn't take the words of the Hebrew admins lightly.
On English Wikipedia, he has been editing pages against consensus, including leaving deceptive edit summaries, such as [1] "according to the talk page" (if you look at the talk page, at least 4 people are against that addition, while he is the only one who supported it). He's been doing the same thing on Adolf Hitler, readding and changing content repeatedly, with edit summaries such as "my changes according to talk page", while on the talk page all he did was list the edits, without reasons for them to be made, and despite unresolved opposition to the edits.
He is also currently performing so-called "search engine fraud" on the English Wikipedia, in which he's listing countless hebrew words on his user page to pull in hits through search engines. See the translated page above for details of this fraud, which he also performed on the Hebrew Wikipedia. In the Hebrew wiki, this fraud led to his page appearing as sixth or seventh when searching for common words in Hebrew. [2]
He has been through two self-nominated attempts at becoming an admin (1, 2), the second of which revealed his repeated vandalism of the Hebrew Wikipedia.
After his Hebrew user page was translated and posted, he edited the page, removing his name, claiming that he isn't that user. See the obvious evidence that he is that user (he said so on his talk page, and on another user's talk page).
Evidence of disputed behavior
[edit](provide diffs and links)
- User page on Hebrew Wikipedia - the most damning evidence of all
- His user page on the English Wikipedia - this long list of unconnected English and Hebrew words is meant as a fraud to pull in search engine hits. See the details of this so-called "search engine fraud" in the translated version of his user page on Hebrew Wikipedia, where he also committed the same fraud. Here is a translation of one small chunk of text on his English Wikipedia user page:
- Little story - free of charge he is they are you you it are this I we every lens of microscope [microscope lens] of speaker of computer of television of house of apple of winter of summer of radio telephone hello use one Israel breakthrough of cake of keyboard of mouse of cat 1 pizza of garden seven can phh phhh phhhh phhhhh wine of quiet porno a in g d the and z h t about to from were s a p k ts r that was 2 sub purple green orange blue autumn of yellow heat of blood of money of hand of leg of hands of feet of flimsy heat of debit of third of balance of finger of disabled toenail of page of running of modem of sex will promise a demon of rehearsal of curb Kerry ant of pigeon of territory of sky aa aaa gangway of roof of breast that is hook moves hh tt if it quite is not hah ah sms year of circuit of lie of truth
- In the Hebrew wiki, this fraud led to his page appearing as sixth or seventh when searching for common words in Hebrew.
- [3] - lies about not being the user, vandalizing the page
- [4] made edits to Adolf Hitler, which were opposed on talk page, with summary "according to talk page"
- [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. Repeatedly reverting National Socialist German Workers Party despite overwhelming opposition on talk page, and yet still leaving summaries like "according to talk page".
- Don't be fooled by his edit count. 90%+ of edits are adding links to other Wikis (mainly Hebrew). He also marks everything minor, including major rewrites and VfD's.
These are only the examples I've come into direct contact with. I'm sure there are others. Please investigate his contributions further.

- Based on what User:Brian0918 told me (see my talk page), Haham hanuka is apparently reiterating a search engine fraud he pulled off on the he: wiki. This is a bit too suspicious to be ignored. Phils 19:39, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

- I tentatively endorse this summary to investigate the allegations of search engine manipulation—do we have any Hebrew-speaking admins who can look into this? --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 00:43, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
- I am an admin in the Hebrew Wiki, (as well as a very minor contributor here) and my very own user page (In the Hevrew Wiki) was vandalized by this user. I believe he should be punished effectively here, so that he won't be able to cause here the damage he's caused in the Hebrew Wiki.Almog 03:28, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

- And every effort should be undertaken to prevent the user from repeating the search engine word list (titled "experiment" on .he and "small story" on .en) 'fraud' in another language Wikipedia; that is, in addition to .he and .en. El_C 22:23, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

User:Mirv's view
[edit]The record of his conduct on he: is perhaps useful for understanding the user's conduct here, but it is not a violation of the English Wikipedia's policies and thus should not be part of dispute resolution on the English Wikipedia. What the user does on another language's Wikipedia is the business of the users there, not of the Anglophone Wikipedia community.
The other points seem hardly worth bringing to RfC.

Based strictly on edits to the en wiki, Haham hanuka is just a user with a somewhat odd behaviour who needs to learn to collaborate with others. Phils 09:51, 1 May 2005 (UTC)Based on his edits to en:, Haham hanuka needs to absorb a bit more of how things are done here, but he's no more troublesome than a lot of other editors. Based on his actions on he:, he should be watched closely while he is here. --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 14:12, 1 May 2005 (UTC)- Sam Spade 16:29, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
Zzyzx11's view
[edit]I agree with User:Mirv's view that the actions on he: are irrelevant. However, I agree that the rest of the actions of Haham hanuka is disruptive.

Discussion
[edit]Reply to outside view
[edit]Admins in the past have blocked users on multiple language Wikipedias for conduct on a single language Wikipedia (an example that comes to mind was a user who went through blanking numerous articles on the Klingon Wikipedia. An admin on that Wikipedia called on the help of admins from other language Wikipedias to block the user there as well). Are you saying that you would be perfectly fine with me blanking the entire German Wikipedia, because somehow my actions there don't reflect who I am here??? --brian0918 22:49, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I am saying no such thing. If you did that, I would expect you to be banned from the German Wikipedia mach schnell, but if you continued making valid and useful edits to the English Wikipedia, I would hope that nobody would decide that you had to be banned from it as well. —Charles P. (Mirv) 23:20, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Charles reason is reasonable. If a person is banned on Wiki A, but continued to be a valid, non-disruptive, legitimate user in Wiki B, then I don't see a good reason to be banned from the latter. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 19:29, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
I've added to the list the search engine fraud he is committing on his user page on English Wikipedia. In the Hebrew wiki, this fraud led to his page appearing as sixth or seventh when searching for common words in Hebrew. This isn't something to be ignored. --brian0918 19:40, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
He has readded part of the Hebrew text that has been deleted, (this part was the only coherent part, which translates to various biographies of porn stars), with the edit summary "biography is not a search engine fraud". To me, that is an admission of guilt, but you decide for yourselves. --brian0918 14:19, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
- En is much larger than he. I don't think that his search engine manipulation will be effective here. BrokenSegue 15:42, 8 May 2005 (UTC)
- You're missing the point, through .en, it remains effective on Hebrew search engines. El_C 21:17, 15 May 2005 (UTC)
Additional Evidence
[edit]I know I'm joining late in the game, and I may not be placing my comments in the right section. Feel free to move them as appropriate. I believe that (Heberw Wikipedia | talk | contributions) is a sockpuppet created by User:Haham_hanuka, for the purpose of carrying out a vendetta against an admin on the Hebrew Wikipedia. See [10] (translation: "Ben Hativa" or Yihuda Ballo is a fucking retarded idiot and a stinkin Nazi"). Ben_Hativa responded by creating an account on the English Wikipedia under the name Krav-hanuka ("The Battle of Hannuka"), and deleting the multiple personal attacks on Heberw Wikipedia's user page. User:Haham_hanuka and User:Krav-hanuka have exchanged threats in Hebrew on my talk page. I can translate their dialogue, if required. I am a Hebrew-speaking administrator. --Woggly 10:52, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
