Hi I notice that you state that the article Joseph Conrad (Romance) is lifted from an article at Romance (Novel). This is because admin put it there. I am the original author of this work which was awarded the degree of M.Phil by Hull university in June 2005. [geoffreyclarke]||||[geoffreyclarke]

Alphabetizing Bollywood actress list
It's good that you've re-ordered the list so that it's alphabetical. It's not so clear that it was right to alphabetize by first name only. usually alphabetizing is done by last name, not first.
I agree that there's a problem in that many actresses are known ONLY by their first name, which is actually a stage name. That leaves the list a mixture of first and last name alphabetization.
But ignoring the last names is also problematic -- especially when you're dealing with a phenomenon like the ubiquitous Kapoors :)
I wonder if we might come up with a different convention, like stage name first and then real name in quotes? And perhaps a note that this is the way the alphabetization was done?
I'm open to other suggestions. This is a knotty, if minor, problem.
Zora 20:03, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
I think it's a tricky issue as the List of Indian movie actresses page is alphabetized by first names. I think we need to discuss it on the discussion page for List of Indian movie actresses with other users.
Station templates
- I've made a pretty decent page for Marine Lines with a table et al. Suggestions needed, as I want to replicate the model for all suburban stations. Nichalp 20:04, Jun 29, 2004 (UTC)
- Really nice. Soon, I will convert all other suburb pages to the template.
Mumbai Suburbs
Yes, that information is needed. I don't know how much I can contribute. --Hemanshu 18:52, 7 May 2004 (UTC)
Stations
Good idea about the stations and templates. However we shouldn't only cover the stations. Areas such as Powai, Worli etc also deserved to be covered. Like you I too will have to go on a sanyaas for the exams. Let's all work on it after our exams. I also suggest more pictures put up on the Bombay page. Nichalp 13:14, May 6, 2004 (UTC)
Mumbai Suburbs
- Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. The standard layout for the Mumbai Suburbs is a good idea. Have you thought of starting up a WikiProject for it? There's a template for starting new ones. Have a look at some of the others in the Geography section for some ideas. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Angela. 19:06, May 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks Angela. I didn't know about the Wikiprojects. I would like to start a projet for Mumbai Suburbs soon. - Utcursch
Hello
Hello Utcursch, I'm Suhit Kelkar of Mahim, Mumbai. I admire your work on the Bombay entry, and would like to offer my assistance if necessary.
My home page on world.std.com
Thanks for letting me know. The link is OK, but the ISP seems to be down. world.std.com was one of the very, very first ISP's. The only earlier one I know of is the WELL. The World is older than the term "ISP." I got my first Internet account there in 1991. They're a small provider and lately they've been feeling the pinch. They're are subject to outages due to flaky power in Brookline, MA, where they are headquartered. I hope this is just a temporary outage; I would feel a small but distinct sense of personal loss if in fact they've gone bust or something. Dpbsmith (talk) 12:13, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)
VfD, redirect
Hey, just thought I'd let you know that if an article title is a spelling error, you can always just make a redirect. There's no need to go through vfd in those cases. —siroχo 19:53, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the award!
I really appreciate the barnstar you added to my userpage! Just noticed it today, guess I should put my own page into my watch list ;-). I will probably cut back my involvement with VfD until I get finished with my exams next month, though. Happy editing! jni 16:30, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the barnstar; it is nice to be recognized. Thanks for your own good work on Wikipedia, and best of luck on your exams. Tom Radulovich 09:25, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Hi - Is there a difference between category:educationists and category:educators? I'm resolving category:orphaned categories and category:educationists turns up as one. Thanks -- Rick Block 01:59, 27 Oct 2004 (UTC)
VFD on Shindig
Please see the new discussion. There was a popular '60s music show called Shindig!, which I just wrote the article for. I voted to redirect to that, as the proper title had an exclamation mark. Mike H 03:46, Oct 29, 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for welcoming me.
Could you say by the way how to add a redirect link (which would redirect automatically)? The only way I know now is to create an article and then move it but in that case only one redirect link could br created.
Also, how to add articles to categories, so that category link would appear bellow? Should be used or that would just make the category link in article rather than bellow it? Don't want to test it on any real articles nor I do want to include sandbox in any real category, so asked. How to search for a category to see if it exists?
I read various help pages and tutorials, but it's hard to find just the required info from here, and it's quite much reading from scratch as I know most of related things anyways.
DeirYassin.
No problem
I spotted the extra tilde while I was notifying someone else that I'd removed his article for possible copyright violation. So I figured I'd work back and fix it. Glad I could be of service. - Vague | Rant 02:35, Dec 8, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Category deletion
Category:French Television is gone. By the way, you can safely link categories with an initial colon, much the same as you can prevent an image from showing that way: :Category:French television comes out as Category:French television, and you should find that this page isn't categorised. --rbrwr± 11:57, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Thanks didn't know that. utcursch 11:59, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)
HYP
May I ask you to please read the evidence that I have posted on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/HYP, follow and read some of the links that Google brings up, and consider whether afterwords you still want to delete the article? Thank you. —Lowellian (talk)[[]] 08:58, Dec 12, 2004 (UTC)
Brainstorming
Thanks for the redirect on the page I created. I had looked for it before hand, with variations of spacing and dashes, but I don't know why I didn't find it. The page directed to is better and more complete. Hu 05:36, 2004 Dec 14 (UTC)

Talk:Allah
Dear Utcursch,
You presented OneGuy with a star for his work in Islam,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:OneGuy
but he has incorrect information on this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Allah
Here OneGuy says that Dr. Robert Morey has a fake doctors degree based on the lie of Dhimmi who has been pressured by Muslims in Pakistan to say this. OneGuy wrote: Read this article from Pakistan Christian Post on Robert Morey and his fake degree: Robert Morey (http://www.pakistanchristianpost.com/articledetails.php?artid=181). OneGuy 07:16, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
See Dr. Morey's response here:
http://www.faithdefenders.com/files/desk/nasir.html http://www.faithdefenders.com/files/desk/nasir2.html
So, please restore all the Allah Moon-god information that was in Wikipedia before that OneGuy apparently deleted.
Thank you.
Allah was a Moon god

Hi Utcursh, thanks for the invite. Don't really see the point of categorifying myself as an 'India-related wikipedian', but what the hell, I've joined anyway. Cheers. Amar
Fountain Grass
Hi Kelly,
A "clean-up" note appeared on the Fountain Grass page. Give me an idea of what to avoid so that I do not unintentionally create work for editors. Although "Fountain Grass" may seem a rather exotic topic, it happens to be one of those plants that tends to cause particularly serious problems in the habitats where it is introduced.
- Fountain Grass's content has been removed due to copyright violation It was copied from link. utcursch 05:20, Dec 30, 2004 (UTC)
Indian Wikipedian's Notice board
Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion. I will try to participate in the noticeboard, but I may not be very useful as I have kind of successfully de-addicted myself from Wikipedia. I just look in now and then, more to keep in touch so that I may contribute in future rather than do so now. KRS 18:24, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)
about your minor edit on the nehru gandhi dynasty
09:00, 13 Dec 2004 Utcursch m (moved edits by 216.100.136.118 on Jawaharlal Nehru to this article)
this one to be exact
The edit says that the nehru family derives its name from a canal that they built in Kashmir. Now a few sources on the net(some quizzes mostly) claim that the family got its name from the jagir they were given near allahabad which had a canal flowing next to it.
just to resolve this confusion can you describe the source of the article
thanks

Hey thanks for helping me with the Krystal Forscutt article. It's well on it's way to becoming a good article. She's quite popular is Australia so I was quite suprised that she didn't have an article about her (or a decent one anyway). Anyway, thanks.

P.S. - I'm new to Wikipedia, was this the right thing to do?
Biryani Edit
Your contribution is biased to the extent that the contribution of local population is totally absent and is removed deliberately. Wikipedia is a democratic page or just a dictatorship of some people ?. Some things are implicit and they dont need any references. Removing the whole contribution is utterly biased as well. Giving references of many biased authors is also not the spirit of wikipedia as well. It is not all about references but neutrality should be maintained at all costs.
